Seven of the top 10 top monthly magazine performers are PA member titles, according to ABC circulation figures released on Friday.

Express Publications, Morrison Media, Yaffa, Odysseus, NewsLifeMedia and ACP magazines saw double digit growth to December 2011. The Dingoes Refrain, Club Marine and Healthy Life Media titles were placed in the top 20.   

Overall however, the picture is less rosy, 37 magazines grew their circulations compared to 97experiencing a fall, averaging a 5.6% decline.

In response to the disappointing figures for some of its food titles, NewsLifeMedia cited the impact of a tough retail climate, but emphasised the exponential growth of its digital communities, contributing to overall audience growth.

ACP also acknowledged that publishers were 'bearing the brunt of subdued consumer spending' but was optimistic about the enduring appeal of 'home, family and well-being' titles.
