Girlfriend reveals redesign and gaming collaboration

Pacific Magazines' teen title Girlfriend has undergone a significant redesign under the editorship of Sarah Tarca.

The magazine features an innovative advertising execution by existing advertiser Ulta3 nail polish: the beauty section is dominated by eye-catching vertical strips.

The March 2012 edition also marks the launch of a collaboration with Electronic Arts (EA). The magazine has instigated a The Sims 3 game blogger campaign to select a winner to write for a gaming column each month.

In return, EA will create a Sims 3 character based on Sarah Tarca and entertainment writer Carina Rossi to be featured within the magazine. EA will  host the winner’s monthly blog on the Sims 3 website.

EA's Product Marketing Manager Bianca McCrimmon commented: “We are delighted to be a part of this unique partnership with Girlfriend. With the ever growing franchise The Sims 3, it is a fantastic opportunity for their readers to play with life through the game, enabling them to be able to develop their creative side and live out their dreams through this initiative.”
