MPA relaunches with new ED, Chair

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Robin Parkes

The Magazine Publishers of Australia, the body representing consumer, cover-priced and nationally distributed magazine publishers, has today announced the appointment of Robin Parkes as Executive Director and Matt Stanton as Chair.

Parkes was previously the CEO of digital TV provider Freeview and advertising/  marketing agency Singleton, Ogilvy & Mather. Stanton assumed the role of CEO at ACP in January this year.

The MPA seeks to revitalise its efforts to convince media buyers of the effectiveness of magazines. Parkes commented: “Magazines are first-tier media channels with unique benefits for consumers and advertisers."

The constituent members of the MPA are ACP, Pacific and NewsLifeMedia, and Parkes is charged with leveraging their individual strengths in order to build a stronger industry presence and greater understanding of the magazine industry.

Stanton replaces Nick Chan (CEO at Pacific Magazines) as Chair, although the announcement stated that the CEOs of Pacific, ACP and News would still play an active role in the new structure.
