
We wish to recruit an experienced General Manager to join Publishers Australia.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be instrumental in positioning the Association for the next stage of growth and managing all aspects of the Association’s activities, including day-to-day operations, business development and strategy. The Publishers Australia office is located in North Sydney.
Key responsibilities include:
• Implementation of the Association’s strategic goals and objectives
• Day to day management of all aspects of the Association, including budgets
• Strong focus on membership growth and sponsorship sales
• Management of the Association’s growing events schedule
• Management of two part-time staff, contractors and external service providers
We are seeking candidates with exceptional communication, project management and execution skills who have demonstrated general management experience and a track record of driving successful hands-on commercial outcomes.
Experience in the magazine and digital media sector will be an advantage and applicants should ideally hold a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Media or similar and have a good understanding of the media sector. An attractive remuneration package is available.

Publishers Australia is a non-profit trade association that represents the leading B2B, specialist B2C, custom and digital magazine publishers in Australia. We currently have over 120 publisher members who produce more than 800 consumer, business and customer publications in total. The Association provides educational, networking and industry events to both existing members and the broader media sector.
