Kids' titles lead digital to paper success

Friday, February 17, 2012

Further to our item on the launch of the velobiz.de bike mag and the subsequent success story posted about insuranceNEWS.com.au yesterday, the UK's ABC figures contained another online to print hit.

The Moshi Monsters Magazine, published by Mind Candy and SkyJack Publishing has seen a 43% growth in circulation. It is now the UK's top rating children's title. The newsstand magazine is based upon the phenomenally popular website moshimonsters.com, which now has almost 60 million registered users worldwide.

Rival children's site binweevils.com has also launched a magazine, produced by Egmont Publishing Group. Co-founder and director Amelia Johnson said: "Our loyal fan base of over two million kids are looking to interact with their favourite characters, games, puzzles on a daily basis across a wide range of mediums. The launch of the monthly magazine allows them to connect with the brand in yet another compelling and enriching entertainment format."

Who knows, maybe these magazines will be the key to prising the little darlings away from the screen and back to the world of paper and words...
