Publishers Australia – Australia’s leading publishing association
Publishers Australia is a strong and powerful voice for specialist print and digital publishers operating in the business to business, specialist consumer and custom sectors. We currently have 104 Publisher Members, 31 suppliers and 10 freelancer/individual members.
We provide a range of services: our website www.publishersaustralia.com.au is a one-stop source of industry news, resources and case studies, as well as a valuable directory of our Members and Associate Members. Our weekly e-newsletter rounds up industry news, trends and events locally and internationally. We run a busy schedule of networking events, speaker panels and training workshops covering best practice across media sales, editorial and digital.
The highlight of the year is Magazine Week, held every November. Our 2012 Excellence Awards attracted over 260 entries, competing in 28 categories. The winners and runners-up received a great deal of recognition and PR benefit, not least in our own Publish! magazine. Last year's conference was attended by nearly 300 delegates who listened to 40 speakers on 20 topics over two days at Sydney's Hilton Hotel.
We offer advocacy services on behalf of our Members and undertake industry development activities through our Leadership Groups, currently: Young Minds, Newsagency,Digital and Custom. Do get involved – at an event, in a Leadership Group or at Board level.

Open to "any natural person who practices a profession, which in the
Board’s opinion, is primarily concerned with the business of magazine or
digital publishing; or relates to and is consistent with the objects of
the company."
Membership allows you to:

training seminars, workshops, conferences and networking drinks.
- advertise your services on the Publishers Australia Freelance
Directory.
- advertise in the e-newsletter, read by over 1,000 each week
- enter your work to the annual Excellence
Awards, as long as it is submitted by a paid up Full Member.
- participate in one of the leadership
groups.
