Pathways to Progress

Publishers Australia strives to be more than an association for print and digital publishers. Over the past 18 months the association has grown rapidly and the board has put in place a mission statement to build upon Publishers Australia's status as the leading publishing trade body in Australia.

The "Pathways to Progress" strategic plan lays out the main priorities of the association over the next 36 months. These are:

Priority 1
To expand upon the membership communication program;
 focus on the digital publishing arena for revenue generation as part of a mixed business model;
raise the visibility and stature of the Australian targeted magazine industry
 and continue to grow the association through an aggressive publisher and non-publisher retention program and development plan that recognises a new set of value propositions.

Priority 2
To understand and engage the market segments of customer, business media, consumer and associations;
identify new opportunities both domestically and globally for our members and
develop top-tier new member services to address the evolving publishing arena.

Priority 3
To provide best practices guidance
; strengthen the print and digital publishing’s industry and
focus on business information/data, custom media, paid subscription models, and other emerging opportunities.

Publishers Australia recognises the challenge posed by each of the above and will take them on with a clear understanding that the association’s role is to help members capitalise on opportunities to increase their revenues and profitability. Publishers Australia approaches this plan and maps a path with a true sense of enthusiasm about the potential for our industry.
